Leasing the new Porsche Taycan (2024 model) in the UK

Until 2020 it appeared that only Tesla, with their Model S and Model X, would be producing luxury and high-performance EVs. And then things changed when Porsche announced that their sports car line-up would include a zero-emission range. While some questioned, or doubted, this decision from the German manufacturer, the amazing feedback and demand has proved otherwise.

Indeed, the original Taycan Sports Saloon was supplemented with a further two models – the Cross Turismo and the Sport Turismo. The Taycan proved to be incredibly important between 2020 – 2023, with both personal and business leasing customers enjoying this in droves.

And after nearly three successful years, the German engineers announced that in 2024 they would be updating the popular line-up, while adding a new Porsche Macan Electric option too. As the website states – “overfeel” – the overwhelming feeling of sitting in an amazing electric car.

The group decided to update the Taycan for 2024, with a need to make slight adjustments such as – driving dynamics (racetrack mode and push-to-pass), headlights (new matrix LED and HD matrix lights), design (subtle adjustments and alterations), performance (improved battery and speed) and driver experience (better interaction and engagement). At the heart of the new Taycan is E-Performance, with electromobility now being at the heart of the group.

And with big competition from the Audi GT, Lotus Eletre and Emeya, Rolls Royce Spectre and Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, the product needs to be on point.
For 2024 UK customers can still select from three body styles including:

  •  Sport Saloon – from £86,500 for a standard Taycan through to £161,400 for Turbo S;
  •  Sport Turismo from £87,300 for a standard Taycan through to £162,100 for Turbo S;
  •  Cross Turismo – from £96,800 for a standard Taycan through to £162,500 for Turbo S; and
  •  Taycan Turbo GT – a 1000hp racing-spec saloon option with bodykit, spoiler and track finish.

Plus, an array of battery configurations which includes options like:

  •  Taycan Saloon 300 kW 82 kWh RWD – the entry-level model RWD will have an 82 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 4.8 seconds, 143 mph top speeds and 300 kW (or 402hp). Expect a combined winter range of 220 miles with warmer weather allowing for 345 miles – 300 miles combined. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 9 hour 0 – 100% charging times with the 270 kW DC maximum allowing 19 minute 10 – 80% times. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 147mpg. You cannot tow with this EV. It also has no Bidirectional charging capabilities. But it does have a heat pump;
  •  Taycan Cross Turismo 340kW 4S 105kWh – the mid-level model AWD will have an 97 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 3.8 seconds, 149 mph top speeds and 440 kW (or 590hp). Expect a combined winter range of 265 miles with warmer weather allowing for 360 miles – 315 miles combined. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 10 hour and 30 minutes 0 – 100% charging times with the 320 kW DC maximum allowing 19 minute 10 – 80% times. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 131 mpg. It has a 446L cargo volume. You cannot tow with this EV. It also has no Bidirectional charging capabilities. But it does have a heat pump;
  •  Taycan Sport Turismo 570kW Turbo S 105kWh – the top model AWD will have an 97 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 2.4 seconds, 149 mph top speeds and up to 700kW (or hp) with launch control. Expect a combined winter range of 250 miles with warmer weather allowing for 335 miles – 295 miles combined. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 10 hour and 30 minutes 0 – 100% charging times with the 320 kW DC maximum allowing 19 minute 10 – 80% times. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 123 mpg. Has the Taycan been popular in the UK?

The electric Porsche proved to be immensely popular at launch, with the more American-style Tesla only fulfilling so many customers. The success of the Taycan was immediate, with long lead time until early 2023, the success of the product was apparent. But at the same time, EV customers in the UK are focused more heavily on elements like battery range and charging times, which are now crucial to enjoying the EV lifestyle.

Which is the best specification or battery configuration to select on the MY24 Taycan?

If personal and business lease customers head to the Porsche website – you will see there are an array of options to choose from. There are two battery options – the 89kWh and 105kWh – plus different outputs including 300kW, 320kW, 520kW and 570kW! How much is a Porsche Taycan Electric to lease?
As one of the world’s favourite, and leading, car manufacturers you need to understand that cost-effective and budget may not be associated with your next lease deal. The Tayan is a supercar, no different to a Ferrari or Lamborghini, so make sure your budgets are prepared accordingly. A basic Taycan Saloon will be around £85,000, a 4S at £96,000, a Turbo at nearly £135,000 and a Turbo S at over £160,000.  Expect monthly deals around £750 - £2000 for your leasing arrangement. If you are a VIP, sporting star, entrepreneur or high-net worth individual, then this could be your perfect electric dream.

Is a Porsche Taycan Electric a good car to lease?
The previous model fully-electric Porsche was rated by many automotive review websites to be the one of the best new cars available in the UK (including any other petrol or diesel alternatives). With WhatCar? At 5/5, Auto Express at 4.5/5, CarWow at 9/10 and Autocar at 5/5, this is one of the best electric cars to lease or buy in the UK. Solidly built, loaded with tech and integrations, a real driver’s car and unbelievably quick, it’s difficult to fault this option. With the new version even better on range and charging, we expect this to be popular; over 300 miles of real range, sub-5 second 0-62 times and 320kW DC rapid charging times. Just wow.

Is a Porsche Taycan electric lease right for me or the business?
Want to treat yourself, or company car driver / fleet, to one of the best cars for leasing? Undoubtedly this is one of the key options to select. However, as we consistently educate our customers in the leasing process for a fully-electric vehicle, product suitability goes beyond speed, acceleration, driver comfort and aesthetics. You do need to comprehend aspects like range, charging times, running costs and Whole of Life costs. Our “living with your ...”  tools and new EVC™ answers every query you could have

Where do I find the best Porsche Taycan lease deals in the UK?
Many of the ultimate e-car lease Porsche Taycan electric car leasing prices are all available on our pricing partners websites like CarWow, Leasing.com and LeaseLoco. Our deals page often feature ready-to-go stock options. But before you pay several hundreds or thousands of pounds per month, a test-drive at a local franchised dealership may be a logical step. If you need to compare our contract hire / finance lease rentals against their hire purchase or personal contract hire purchase rates, this is a good move.

What is the cheapest Porsche Taycan Electric leasing option?
At the time of writing, the cheapest Porsche EV to lease is the Taycan Saloon 300kW 89kWh 4dr RWD Auto. At just under £87,000 this is still an expensive / prestige car. Do consider that many Porsche dealerships do expect a number of options to be added on any new factory order.

What is the range of an electric Porsche Taycan?

As you will note from our amazing electric-only website, we don’t like using just one figure to demonstrate the range of any electric car. The weather conditions, driving style and behaviours are all massively influential on how your new EV will operate. For example, colder weather will diminish battery performance which is why charging in the morning and heat pumps are ideal for EVs. In the same way, quicker acceleration and higher top speeds are less efficient. Use our “Living with ...” tools for an honest view of the Taycan’s capability. However, the e-car lease combined summary can be reviewed below:

300kW 89kWh 4dr RWD Auto – 300 miles combined;
340kW 4S 89kWh 4dr Auto – 295 miles combined;
380kW 4S 105kWh 4dr Auto – 340 miles combined;
520kW Turbo 105kWh 4dr Auto – 320 miles combined; and
570kW Turbo S 105kWh 4dr Auto – 310 miles combined;
