Leasing a Skoda Enyaq in the UK

Will families ever be able to afford an electric vehicle? The need for cost-effective, and practical, SUVs in a pure electric format became a growing need in the UK around 2018 / 2019, at a time when much of the investment and product from manufacturers seemed to centre around luxury and performance EVs. If the UK is to achieve the 2030 / 2035 ambitious decarbonisation targets, then our populous clearly need affordable BEV solutions.

And in 2020, Skoda introduced one such option – the Skoda Enyaq iV. While Skoda have been historically successful with their plug-in hybrid iV options, particularly the Octavia and Superb, entering the world of electric cars was very much a new concept. But forming part of the VW Group certainly helps, and in using the VW Id.4 platform, Skoda were able to offer a product capable of competing with the Kia e-Niro, Hyundai Kona, Volvo XC40 and of course, their sister-product VW Id.4.

But is the Enyaq proving to be popular? The 4x4 Skoda entered the UK at a time when the Tesla Model 3 had really set the customer expectation for quality and user-friendly zero-emission cars. But the car did not disappoint and for those personal and business leasing customers with families / pets, a perfect solution was introduced.

The Enyaq has been so successful that the “estate” version was soon followed by a Coupe, replicating what VW have done with the Id.4 and Id.5. Not stopping there, Skoda have continued to evolve their product suite with new specification and battery options, including rapid charge upgrades, as part of cementing their position as the leading affordable SUV to lease in the UK.

Before the impact of microchip and part shortage, arising from COVID, UK customers could select one of the following battery sizes for both the Estate or Coupe versions (subject to spec change and availability):

  • 60 – this 58 kWh lithium-ion battery delivers 132 kW of power (or 177 hp), 99mph top speeds and 8.7 second 0 – 62 times. On electric performance, the 60 model will deliver around 170 miles of driving combined in colder weather and 230 miles in warmer weather on a full charge. Expect 0 – 100% charge times of just over 6 hours on the 11 kW AC max and 30-minute rapid charge times on the 130 kW DC max (from 10 – 80%);
  • 80 – this 77 kWh lithium-ion battery delivers 150 kW of power (or 201 hp), 99mph top speeds and 8.6 second 0 – 62 times. On electric performance, the 80 version will deliver around 220 miles of driving combined in colder weather and 300 miles in warmer weather on a full charge. Expect 0 – 100% charge times of just over 8 hours on the 11 kW AC max and 33-minute rapid charge times on the 135 kW DC max (from 10 – 80%);
  • 80x – the 4WD upgrade also use the 77 kWh lithium-ion battery. In terms of speeds, the vehicle delivers 195 kW of power (or 261 hp), 99mph top speeds and 6.9 second 0 – 62 times. On electric performance, the 80x version will deliver around 210 miles of driving combined in colder weather and 285 miles in warmer weather on a full charge. Expect 0 – 100% charge times of just over 8 hours on the 11 kW AC max and 33-minute rapid charge times on the 135 kW DC max (from 10 – 80%); and
  • vRS – the top-spec option will also adopt the 77 kWh lithium-ion battery. In terms of performance, the vehicle delivers 220 kW of power (or 261 hp), 112mph top speeds and 6.2 second 0 – 62 times. On electric performance, the vRS version will deliver around 200 miles of driving combined in colder weather and 270 miles in warmer weather on a full charge. Expect 0 – 100% charge times of just over 8 hours on the 11 kW AC max and 33-minute rapid charge times on the 135 kW DC max (from 10 – 80%);

One of the amazing things about the e-car lease website is that our “Living with your …” tools set out all of this essential information on the battery for you, or the fleet manager, to review before committing to your contract hire arrangement. As our team offers a fixed term, contract financial product, you cannot just hand an EV back if it isn’t suitable; you must enter into a process known as Early Termination (ET). And an ET will cost around half of the remaining rentals – you cannot just swap or upgrade during a contract.

  • Loft – circa £40,970.00 for the standard 80 model, this car incudes 19” alloys, LED headlights, rear spoiler, LED ambient lighting, lane assist, keyless stop/start, front assist with emergency braking, navigation, virtual cockpit, 13” touchscreen, climate control, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera and a Mode 3 cable (for Type 2 connection);
  • Loft (Suite) – for around £1,400 more, amend the standard Loft to have soft black leather, optional electric driver’s seat with massaging function and leather door inserts;
  • Loft (Lounge) – for just £1,200 above the base model, this includes leather and microfibre seats and the anodised décor on the doors plus black floor mats;
  • Loft (ecoSuite) – for around £1,650 extra, change to this to enjoy an “eco-friendly” cognac brown leather interior with leatherette inserts; and
  •  Sportline – circa £44,520.00, the dynamic sports model includes 20” alloys, LED matrix headlights, sports bumpers, alcantara/leather upholstery, black exterior styling, 3-spoke heated sports steering wheel, aluminium pedals, sports seats and an array of options including assisted drive package (for adaptive cruise), infotainment pack (for augmented reality HUD), panoramic sunroof and the comfort seat package (for electric seats with massage function). Upgrade to the “X” for the 4WD capability for an additional £3,000 above a 2WD Sportline.

There are a number of other packages available on your new Enyaq, such as the climate package (for heated seats and washer nozzles), climate package plus (for heated rear seats and windscreen), drive sport package (for a 3-spoke heated leather steering wheel and drive mode select), assisted drive package (for adaptive cruise) and the heat pump for the battery pack.

And the Enyaq estate and coupe are designed for both PCH and BCH customers. The argument for electric vehicles is somewhat more attractive for companies (both the employer and employee). At 2% BiK, company car tax couldn’t be any cheaper with your electric Skoda, not to mention lower running costs and lower fuel costs (don’t forget to use our charge cost calculator on the e-car website). But individual customers can enjoy many of these benefits too, particularly for those households with solar panels and battery storage. The EV-lifestyle is making many of our UK customer rethink their fleets.

Ready to lease a new Enyaq?  Simply select the model and specification from our long list on the website. And then build the perfect car by selecting the colour and options you want on this SUV. By selecting a term, annual mileage and initial rental, you can get an instant quote.

And while some customer prefer to order without any hassle, we understand that some need to speak to the true experts of electric cars. That’s why our team are always available on 01942 910 001 from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

How much is a Skoda Enyaq Electric to lease?
Ranging between £37,000 - £51,000 the price you, or the business, pays for the Enyaq will depend on your vehicle, specification plus your contract requirements. Generally, the longer your term, the cheaper the rental will be. You will also note that the higher your annual mileage the higher the price will be. Expect our lease deals to be around £400 - £650 per month. While these will be for driver-maintained contracts, ask our team for funder-maintained options, so you can review the cost of including all servicing, maintenance and tyre replacements for complete peace of mind.

Is a Skoda Enyaq a good car to lease?
The Enyaq benefits from the rigorous engineering and tech which the VW group bring to the electrification of our automotive fleets. What this means for the UK customers is that you get an EV which is both quality and cost-effective. While the Enyaq isn’t quite the “cheap car” to lease, this will still be one of the better value vehicles in electric format. The e-car lease team expects customers looking at the Mazda Mx-30, MG ZS or SsangYong Korando to consider upgrading to the Enyaq.

Is a Skoda Enyaq electric lease right for me or the business?
It’s of absolute importance to our e-car lease team that you, or the business, use our thorough assessments and EV tools to ascertain product suitability. Leasing is not a flexible finance product, so our team do want you to have a positive experience over the 2, 3 or 4 years of the lease. Just because the Enyaq is a great looking car, offers great-value and receives some exceptional ratings (5/5 with WhatCar and 8/10 with CarWow and TopGear) doesn’t mean it is the right EV for everyone

Where do I find the best Skoda Enyaq lease deals in the UK?
The e-car lease team uploads a select amount of leasing deals to price comparison websites for leasing like AutoLeaseCompare, CarWow, LeaseFetcher and LeaseLoco. But many of the best prices are often found on our bespoke electric car (and van) website – e-car lease. However, with our website only offering contract hire products (usership product), if you are comparing leasing vs purchasing on the Skoda Enyaq, then visit the local dealership / retailer to test-drive and experience what the electric Skoda can offer. Plus you, or the business, can review comparable PCP and HP type products which may be more suitable for purchasing situations.

What is the Cheapest Skoda Enyaq Electric leasing option?
At the time of writing (April 2022), the cheapest model to lease within the range is the £36,000 132kW 60 Loft 62kWh 5dr Auto [120kW] but with restrictions on builds and delivery times, many PCH and BCH customers are electing to order the 150kW 80 Loft 82kWh 5dr [125kW] at nearly £41,000. The Enyaq Coupe is only available to order in a £50,000+ vRS but 60, 80 and 80x models are due later in 2022 – 2023.

What is the range of an electric Skoda Enyaq?
Because there are different battery options with the Enyaq range, customers need to use the “Living with your …” tools to comprehend how their electric SUV will perform in the real world. Driver speeds, temperatures and driver behaviours will greatly influence the range capabilities. For example, a “60” will travel around 155 miles on motorways in winter compared to 200 miles in summer. The same car offers 205 miles in colder urban driving conditions compared to 315 miles in warmer weather. On the same analysis, the “80” will offer 185 miles on motorways and 255 miles in urban conditions in colder weather compared to 240 miles on motorways and 380 miles in urban conditions in warmer climates.

Can you tow a Skoda Enyaq?
Yes – it is possible to tow with the new Enyaq. Skoda allow you to order this from the factory with a £180 tow bar preparation option and the choice of an electrically retractable towbar at £815.

What is the towing capacity of the Skoda Enyaq?
The Skoda Enyaq 80 has a towing weight (unbraked) of 750kg and a towing weight (braked) of 1000kg.

What is the MPG of the Skoda Enyaq?
The electric Skoda SUV 80 has a combustion fuel equivalent of 137 mpg.
