Leasing a Peugeot E-3008 Electric in the UK

Are UK leasing customers so obsessed with electric SUVs?

Based on the swathe of incoming new EVs it must be the case, with the latest car from the French manufacturer, Peugeot, being yet another “fastback” – the E-3008. And who can blame them, as the pressure for pure electric is now on for 2035, so brands need to ensure that firm favourites to the UK’s retail and business customers are available in battery tech format.

Launching later in 2023 (November / December), the E-3008 will be made available in two key formats:

  • 157kW Allure 73kWh Auto – the “entry” model will still offer some great specification like the 19” diamond black, HD reversing camera, curved 21” HD display, keyless entry and go, LED interior lighting, LED rear lights and navigation; and
  • 157kW GT 73kWh Auto – the higher specification adds 20” alloys, LED headlights, 8-colour ambient lighting, heated steering wheel, heated front seats hand-free tailgate and colour contrast black diamond roof.

The Stellantis group have really pushed their product into the next generation with some stunning tech and comfort features. The i-cockpit will have a 21” curved display above the steering wheel and will provide complete control of the vehicle with personalisable toggles and touch control steering wheel.

The Advanced infotainment system will add 3D connected navigation and “Over-The-Air” updates. Luxury won’t be absent with customisable LED mood lighting, FOCAL Hi-Fi system, heated front and rear seats with massaging and ventilation plus Clean Cabin.

But how does the standard E-3008 SUV perform?

This FWD SUV will have a 73 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 7.0 seconds, 112 mph top speeds and 157 kW (or 211hp). Expect a combined winter range of 210 miles with warmer weather allowing for 285 miles.

On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 8 hour 0 – 100% charging times with the 160 kW DC maximum allowing 36 minute 10 – 80% times. A cargo volume of 520L is available with this car. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 139 mpg. This EV will have Bidirectional charging, with a V2L which has an exterior 3.6 kW AC Type 2 adapter

But how does the Long Range e-3008 SUV perform?

This FWD SUV will have a 98 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 7.0 seconds, 112 mph top speeds and 170 kW (or 228hp). Expect a combined winter range of 270 miles with warmer weather allowing for 365 miles.

On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 10 hour and 30 minute 0 – 100% charging times with the 160 kW DC maximum allowing 32 minute 10 – 80% times. A cargo volume of 520L is available with this car. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 132 mpg. This EV will have Bidirectional charging, with a V2L which has an exterior 3.6 kW AC Type 2 adapter.

With prices expected to be confirmed at around £40,000 - £50,000 this is perhaps going to be more expensive than the combustion alternatives. How much is a Peugeot E-3008 EV to lease?
With an entry price tag of between £40,000 to £50,000, this fastback SUV should cost between £450 - £650 per month. While this isn’t quite as cheap as what we would have perhaps expected, cost-savings via the Whole of life cost analysis could make this an affordable proposition for you or the company.

Is a Peugeot E-3008 Electric a good car to lease?
Stellantis are a huge car group, with brands like Citroen, DS, Fiat and Peugeot. This means economies of scale and scalability, for robust battery options at an affordable price. The Long Range, with a 98 kWh battery, and a 320 mile+ real world capability is a very interesting proposition.

Is a Peugeot E-3008 lease right for me or the business?
While the latest SUV from Peugeot admittedly stunning, inside and out, there are more aspects to consider outside of this. Whether you are a personal or business customer, there are relevant considerations on range (city and motorway), charging speed (AC and DC), charge point infrastructure at home or work, insurance costs and driver behaviour

What is the cheapest Peugeot E-3008 leasing option?
While not a cheap option per se, the 157kW Allure 73kWh 5dr Auto will be the lowest priced / entry model.

What is the range of the electric Peugeot E-3008?
Be careful about how you interpret range on your new electric car. With influences like weather, speeds and driver behaviour, you do need to take a balanced view. The standard 3008 EV will cover 175 miles on a motorway and 245 miles in the city during winter. Whereas in summer, this will offer 225 miles on a motorway and 365 miles in the city
