Lotus Lease electric car deals UK

Does one of the UK’s leading automotive and motorsport engineering companies create electric cars? Absolutely.

For a petrol-based business associated with iconic performance cars like the Lotus Eleven, Elite, Elan, V8 Esprit and Elise (there’s a theme here …) many battery vehicle fans may be surprised to hear that the group are now investing into zero-emission technology as part of securing their financial future.

With manufacturing and engineering facilities in Britain, we are of course immensely proud to have a home-grown talent entering this market. Now majority owned by Geely, the Chinese multinational automotive company behind Polestar and Volvo, it seems that fresh investment and innovation is now coming.

Do brands matter for electric vehicles?

One of the leading contentions is that electrification is removing brand loyalty and aspiration. But there are still some customers evidently attached to certain vehicle makers, with Lotus likely to have a significant following – especially in the UK where many older drivers will have fond memories of this leading motorsport brand.

As Lotus will prove, we cannot just be factually objective about EVs; these are still an emotional and aesthetic purchase or lease. UK leasing customers must not feel forced into EV products, there does need to be a positive and enjoyable rationale behind it too.

Why choose to lease a Lotus electric?

There are EV lease customers who do want more fun and character; Lotus are without a doubt one of the leading manufacturers in this department. Their first innovation, the Lotus Eletre, is a British designed (and Chinese manufactured) hypercar SUV which is looking to move luxury car owners from their Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga and into this all-electric prestige SUV.

And as the Lotus website demonstrates - this is a brand about combining luxury comforts together with thrilling performance and design. No longer will the Porsche Taycan (saloon, cross turismo and sport turismo) be the only viable option to utilise. And it’s fair to say that SUVs and Crossovers are not just on the present/future of combustion transport, they are also the future of electrisation too. If you want to connect with the UK public, you do need to offer them a genuine SUV or 4x4 option.

How expensive is a Lotus electric to lease?

At the time of writing there is still limited pricing information on the new Lotus Eletre. With a standard option likely to start at around £89,500 and the upgraded R version likely to be around £120,000, this is likely to cost anywhere between £1000 - £2000 per month on a leasing deal (term, mileage and initial rental dependent). Any further products, sports car or SUV, are more than likely to be well beyond £75,000, so this is going to be a more luxury product for any personal or business lease customers.

Is an electric Lotus for me?

The prestige and finish of the Lotus EVs are not the only consideration. Using an EV does require some thought and undertaking from a driver. There also needs to be a detailed analysis of the battery performance and some of the key components of electric adoption. For example, will you charge at home or work? Has your employer established workspace charge points or charging payment system? Do you understand the temperature impact on range? Have you ascertained costs per mile as part of a Whole of Life cost analysis?

With a new Lotus Eletre R you can enjoy 240 miles in colder weather and 310 miles in warmer weather on a full charge. On charging times, the immense 22 kW AC enables 6 hour 0 – 100% times with the 350 kW DC allows a 20 minute 10 – 80% session. And all with a 675 kW (905 hp) platform for 162mph top speeds and 2.9 second 0 - 62 mph times. Using our bespoke “living with your …” tools, you (or the fleet manager/director) can quickly ascertain if this BEV is for you.

How do I lease a new electric Lotus?

If you want to lease, personal, business or salary sacrifice, from our expert team, just review some of the amazing products section, like the Eletre . Because a Lotus is so individual and bespoke, it may be worth using their website to configure and build the perfect option for you and then send this to us to get you a price.

Alternatively, use our website term, annual mileage, initial rental (including no deposit options) and maintenance provisions. With regards to maintenance, our funder-maintained packages allow you to include the cost of all servicing, tyres and breakdown recovery for the duration of the term (for an additional monthly cost).
