Electric Car Grant Scheme

(ECG)

Electric Car Grant Guide | Eligibility & Savings Explained

What it is, who qualifies & how to get it

Government-backed savings on selected new electric cars (with automatic discount applied by us)

The UK’s new Electric Car Grant (ECG) helps reduce the cost of selected new electric cars. Discounts are applied at the point of sale by approved partners — so when you lease through e-car lease, any eligible saving is applied automatically.

On this page you’ll find a plain‑English guide to how the ECG works, plus the latest list of currently eligible models. If the car you want is on the list, we’ll apply the discount automatically, so the price you see is the price you pay.

Save up to £3,750 on your EV with e-car

Why the ECG matters

Alongside the UK’s (Zero-Emmission Vehicle) ZEV Mandate  and continued public‑charging growth, the grant aims to encourage more drivers to switch to zero‑emission vehicles. Pricing, charging confidence and model choice are improving and the ECG adds a simple, automatic saving for cars that meet the Government’s rules.

Quick facts

  • Eligibility: Selected new fully-electric cars approved by the Government.
  • How it's applied: Automatically by us (no customer application needed).
  • Price limits: Bands are being set by the Government. Models are approved in batches and may change over time.

Eligibility snapshot

Who qualifies?

The ECG covers selected new fully-electric cars approved by the Government. Approvals are issued in batches and can change over time.

If your chosen model is on the list when you order, the saving is applied automatically by approved partners (like us).

Good to know

Not every EV is eligible, and the model list can expand as manufacturers are approved.

Used electric vehicles aren’t covered. This scheme is for new electric cars only.

Save money, simplify the switch

The ECG is designed to make EVs more accessible. If your car appears on the approved list, the saving is built into your quote – lowering your monthly rentals without any extra steps.

Alongside the ZEV Mandate, growing public charging, and sharper EV pricing, the ECG helps more drivers move electric with confidence.

We’ll confirm eligibility when we prepare your quotation and apply the saving automatically where it’s available. If the model changes approval status, we’ll reflect that too – simple and transparent.
