• GT – from £39,055 this adds i-Connect advanced, heated steering wheel, full matrix LED headlights, 19” graphite alloys, virtual and customisable i-Toggles, 3D LED rear lights, ambient lighting and lane positioning assist.

On colours choose between okenite white, nera black, selenium grey, obsession blue and elixir red. In terms of extras consider the Hi-Fi pack, 360 vision and drive assist pack or the Nappa leather (for the GT). In terms of battery options, there is one choice which is:

•  58kWh - with a usable battery of 58.3 kWh this FWD fastback offers 157kW (211hp), top speeds of 99 mph and 0-62 times of 7.2 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 195 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 270 miles (on a full charge) - 230 miles combined . The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 6 hours and 15 minutes with the 120kW DC enabling 10-80% in 37 minutes. The 408 EV has no confirmed Bidirectional charging. It has a 160 mpg equivalent and 471L cargo volume (1545L with the seats down). The heat pump is available as a standard option;

Spacious and aesthetically pleasing, the new e-408 fastback is likely to be a sage addition to the family fleet. With service intervals at every 2 years or 16,000 miles, running costs are likely to be measured too.
