Leasing a Kia EV2  in the UK

“A first impression that lasts” the new Kia EV2 hatchback is the latest small electric car option from the Korean group. As one of the UK’s major EV suppliers, the team have been busy producing an option in almost every segment.

When you consider their EV3 / EV4 SUV and Fastback / EV4 / EV6 SUV / EV9 SUV, you soon realise that this is a brand which is wholly invested in battery technology. In terms of the array of product options and diversity, there are very few brands which have managed to keep up with the velocity of Kia.

However, not every personal and business customer in the UK is awash with money. Realistically, some customers are on a budget and need smaller and more affordable options to lease. With the UK Government now investing into elements like charging for terraced properties and the underlying cost of energy, making the economic environment more affordable for all will necessitate vehicles which meet this criterion. The EV2, with a price range around £25,000 - £30,000 will almost certainly do this.

What specifications are available on the new Kia EV2? As per the Kia website you can choose from:

  • EV2 Air - this includes 16” alloys, LED headlamps, 6-speaker audio system, roof rails and dual temperature control;
  •  EV2 Earth  - this adds 18” alloys, privacy glass, ambient lighting, Harmon Kardon premium sound and the Highway Driving Assist 2.0;
  • EV2 GT-Line  - this adds 19” alloys, 3-spoke GT Line steering wheel, metal pedals, memory driver seat, ventilated front seats and the digital key.

In terms of colours choose between Magma Red, Morning Haze, Frost Blue, Delux White, Ivory Silver and Wolf Gray.

The EV2 is being pushed as a compact yet bold vehicle, utilising a refined and agile form. Using advanced ADAS features together with leading battery and vehicle technology, the new hatch is very much about character with the iconic tiger-nose design, signature LED lighting, aerodynamic profile, vertical taillights, spacious yet flexible interior and the 403L of storage capacity.

How does the EV2 EV perform?

Choose between tow key battery options including:

Expect a combined winter range of 125 miles with warmer weather allowing for 170 miles – a 150 mile combined. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 4 hour and 30 min 0 – 100% charging times with the 115 kW DC maximum allowing 30 minute 10 – 80% times. A cargo volume of 326L is available with this car. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 148 mpg. You can tow with this EV – 750kg (Unbraked) and 750kg (Braked). It does have Bidirectional capabilities with the V2L functionality via the 3.6kW AC exterior and interior outlet. The Heat Pump is available as a cost option; and

Is a Kia EV2 Electric a good car to lease?
The latest small car from Kia has already received some positive feedback from the UK media and press. The pros include the impressive practicality, great headroom, great configurability on the front screen and robust range.

Is a Kia EV2 Electric lease right for me or the business?
With fantastic value and capability, the EV2 is likely to be a credible addition to your home or business fleet. However, unlike many dealerships and leasing brokers, our website is a resource of EV information with the EVC™ and “living with your” guides available to answer the key questions like charging speeds, time, costs, range and much more. This is an FOC tool.

Where do I find the best Kia EV2 Electric lease deals in the UK?
We do encourage our customers to visit our best electric car deals section, but you can also go to our price comparison partners Leasing.Com and LeaseLoco. For example, the EV2 61kWh (on a full charge) will offer 150 miles on a motorway in colder weather, with this increasing to 210 miles for urban and city driving. In warmer weather, this increases to 190 miles on a motorway and 320 miles in city driving.
