Some of the key updates include the steer-by-wire technology, which enables smooth and effortless control for the driver and even more digital connections via the MB.OS operating system and digital cockpit, while the MANUFAKTUR allows a Mercedes customer to wholly personalise their interior to their exact requirements. As our analysis of the EQS below shows, the updated battery offers much better performance and range.

  •  Premium Saloon – from £91,765 this includes the Advance package with the MBUX augmented navigation, adaptive high beam, 20” AMG alloys, AMG body styling, illumination in the radiator shell, velour floor mats, comfort seats, multifunction steering wheel in Nappa leather, acoustic comfort package, heat-insulating tinted glass, electrically folding door mirrors, panoramic sliding roof, 4-way lumbar support, climate control, easy-pack tailgate, air filter, heat pump, heated front seats, memory package for the driver’s seat, rear seat package with heated rear seats and electrically adjustable rear seats, heated wheel, navigation, MBUX Hyperscreen, Guard 360 degree, keyless go package, parking package and rear axle steering; 
  •  Premium Plus Saloon – from £98,765 this adds the Plus Package for Burmester sound, climatised seats, 21” alloys and Electric Art interior; and 
  •  Premium Executive Saloon – from £104,715  this adds Electric Art Exterior for 21” alloys, AMG body styling, NECK-PRO comfort head restraints, Rear Seat Package Plus for climatised rear seats and running lights.

How will the new Mercedes EQS EV perform?

As per below you can choose between the following EQS options: 

  •  EQS 400 - with a usable battery of 112 kWh this RWD luxury saloon offers 270kW (362hp), top speeds of 130 mph and 0 - 62 times of 6.2 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 345 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 480 miles (on a full charge) - 415 miles combined . The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 12 hours with the 330kW DC enabling 10-80% in 26 minutes. The EQS has no Bidirectional charging. It has a 150mpg equivalent, 610L cargo volume (1690L with the seats down) and towing capabilities of 750kg (Unbraked) and 1600kg (Braked). The heat pump is available as a standard option; and
  •  EQS 580 4MATIC - with a usable battery of 122 kWh this AWD luxury saloon offers 430kW (577hp), top speeds of 130 mph and 0 - 62 times of 4.1 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 350 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 475 miles (on a full charge) - 415 miles combined. The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 13 hours and 15 mins with the 350kW DC enabling 10-80% in 28 minutes. The EQS has no Bidirectional charging. It has a 138 mpg equivalent, 610L cargo volume (1690L with the seats down) and towing capabilities of 750kg (Unbraked) and 1700kg (Braked). The heat pump is available as a standard option.

What is the range of an electric Mercedes EQS?
At e-car lease our team do not use the WLTP range analysis for an electric car as we don’t think this does enough for a driver. For example, the EQS 400 (on a full charge) will offer 305 miles on a motorway in colder weather, with this increasing to 385 miles for urban and city driving. In warmer weather, this increases to 400 miles on a motorway and 580 miles in city driving.

What is the towing capacity of the Mercedes EQS?
.The RWD can tow 750kg (Unbraked) and 1600kg (Braked) and the AWD 4Matic can tow 750kg (Unbraked) and 1700kg (Braked)
