Leasing the new Smart #5 in the UK

Car manufacturers are now really getting it right with the EVs that they are building for 2025 / 2026 (and beyond). This is perhaps no better illustrated than with the latest innovation from the Smart group – the #5. A robust electric SUV, this car is a concept-turned-reality where battery and car technology have been equally combined along with spacious interiors and first-class finish.

Defined as the “Progressive Adventurer” the new #5 is being offered as the truly functional family SUV, with an ability to offer both ruggedness and luxury at the same time - the so-called multi-purpose vehicle.

Where the new Hashtag 5 really stands out is with the focus on the battery capability. As the company is co-owned by Mercedes and Geely this is perhaps unsurprising. Here we have a car capable of 22kW AC (which ALL cars should be configured to) and up to 400kW DC rapid charging, all with robust real world ranges.

While the vehicle may appear boxy and angular, this is an intentional design to ensure a longer wheelbase with shorter overhang to maximise internal space and carrying capacity. Light and airy inside, many parents will feel in anything other than their traditional MPVs and SUVs.

So what Smart #5 options are there?

As at November 2025 choose from:
