Land Rover are firmly in the UK's BEV economy for 2026 and beyond. Having announced the launch of their full-size Range Rover model last month, which you can read about here, the group's promise to engage more with zero-emission technology has not been made in jest.
No longer the king of the diesel engine, which is probably good news in light of the growing crisis at the pumps, the transition into battery tech has been a long time coming. To now have the iconic Range Rover Sport available in all-electric format is testament to a major success factor in the UK's automotive economy - confidence.

For any personal or business leasing customer considering the new RR Sport EV, there has to be some confidence in the quality and robustness of the product.
Slightly smaller than the full size model, this still reflects a £100,000 commitment to own or buy one. With the Sport being the leading car for many company directors, affluent families and aspirational younger drivers, there must be considered confidence in the long-term health and financial robustness of BEVs.
Thankfully, the recent stats from the SMMT for the September 2026 UK automotive performance continue to make good reading with key takeaways including:

The ascendancy of battery electric is continuing at a promising rate. So much so, we are looking to complete the year (2026) with at least 600,000 - 650,000 new car registrations in zero-emission format.

This is now a sizeable market which all manufacturers can now invest into, with firm knowledge that there are corresponding buying statistics to support their endeavours. When it comes to the luxury segment of the market, where the Range Rover will be looking to engage in, having both the financial and numeric confidence is paramount to the brand’s long-term health and business strategy.
Dynamic performance and Range Rover refinement, the new Range Rover Sport has now landed on the manufacturer website and is looking to deliver sporting luxury for those who embrace every drive.
A big factor of the new SUV is the innovation and electrified performance, with instant torque, dynamic electronic active roll control, precision with the dynamic mode, balanced with the air suspension, composed with the single pedal driving and versatile with the 2.5 tonnes of capacity and optional towing range predication.

As at October 2026 choose from:

Key colours include Varesine Blue, Santorini Black and Zadar Grey (opt for the colour contrast or body-coloured roof). Key additional options include the Black Exterior Pack (for the gloss black grille, Narvik black surround and Narvik black vents).
You can add the towing pack to include the electrically deployable towbar. Some of the more luxury additional options to your electric RR sport include the front centre refrigerator, 12.4” rear entertainment screens, Wi-Fi Enabled plans for your phone and devices, domestic plug socket for the interior and the laminated front/rear glass.

You can build your own on the Range Rover website like any other of the luxury SUV derivatives.
At present (October 2026) there is just one battery option to choose from:
EV550 - this AWD SUV will have an 118.5kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 4.5 seconds, 124 mph top speeds and 405 kW (or 543hp). Expect a combined winter range of 260 miles with warmer weather allowing for 340 miles – a combined 300 miles.

On charging, the 22 kW AC max will allow 6 hour and 30 min 0 – 100% charging times with the 325 kW DC maximum allowing 23 minute 10 – 80% times. A cargo volume of 627L is available with this car.
