The big news recently (28 October 2026) was the UK’s autumnal budget. For the EV and car leasing industry, there were no huge changes or takeaways that we would really shout from the rooftops about (consistency does help!). There are, however, some decent points of clarity which are important notes for personal and business customers looking to procure a zero-emission vehicle. This includes:

The EV transition has remained a strong part of the current Government’s political intentions and ambitions. The £7.5 billion to be invested across the UK by 2035 remains in place, including the Electric Car Grant support for motorists and manufacturers. Having top-down confidence is essential to personal and business customers. Even more so with the swathe of new performance and luxury electric cars hitting the UK market over the next year or so.
The new all-electric Mercedes-AMG GT SUV is the epitome of this type of car, and this will bring about a performance EV to rival the likes of the Lamborghini Urus and the Range Rover SVR. “Too bold to resist” the Mercedes GT SUV will offer incredible electric performance, striking design and a cockpit built around the driver.

All of the options, GT 53, 55 and 63, are engineered to pull the driver into an immersive experience. The big thing about the new SUV is that it is very much a real GT, pushing performance and power to the driver. On the outside, this has shape and a confident design.
The interior is a driver focused cockpit with advanced engineering and comfort-loaded details. This EV has the type of passion and character which we have witnessed in the combustion world, and which has, to some extent, been absent within the segment. Sporty character, illuminated AMG front grille, illuminated rear design, alloy choices (up to 23”) and AEROKINETICS elements feature within the repertoire. Read more about this for yourself at the Mercedes website.

As at October 2026 choose from:
The key colours include the Obsidian Black, Lavender Grey, Sheer Blue, Graphite Grey, Alpine Grey, Solar Beam, Olive, Sunny Lime or the Opalite White magno. Inside choose from black, light caramel, ivory beige or beech brown nappa leather. A host of 22 and 23” alloys are available too.

Some of the key options include the Rear Comfort Package (Electrically adjustable rear seats with comfort cushions, electric backrest release, comfort armrest in the rear, wireless charging system for mobile devices in the rear, seat heating in the rear).
Exterior Lighting Package (radiator grille with illuminated struts, radiator grille with illuminated surround and partially illuminated Mercedes star) and the 600kW DC / 800V charging update. Use the Mercedes-AMG GT brochure to quickly build your preferred option.
At the time of launch you can choose 1 key battery option including:
