The Tesla Model 3 Electric Car Lease is improving AGAIN-Electric Car News

What cars will UK drivers be enjoying 2025 and beyond? Further to the recent BBC report, it seems that BYD are hoping to be a favourite in our personal and business leasing market with an 880% increase in sales for September 2024 compared to September 2025.

As reported, the BYD team are enjoying some significant success with their all-electric options, the Seal and Sealion 7, in addition to their biggest-seller, the Seal U SUV (a PHEV). With the UK not imposing tariffs on the Chinese-built EVs like the rest of the EU and USA, there has been a big push to bring cheaper and impressive vehicles to the market.

This isn’t just about zero-emission vehicles, with sales of plug-in vehicles continuing to grow, as not every consumer or fleet is ready to move into solus battery technology. Also, it isn’t just the BYD, with the Jaecoo 7 also featuring as one of the most-popular cars in September 2025 too. This is testament to the product, which will not be benefitting from the Band 1 or Band 2 Gov. grants being offered to brands like Renault, Ford, Citroen, Peugeot and Skoda

As these companies are engaged in British-led battery and vehicle production, the UK Government are offering additional support to help offset some of the pressure on these manufacturers. But will this be enough to manage the rising tide from the east?

One group which has come under question within this debate is the world’s most famous electric car producer - Tesla. With Elon Musk perhaps more well known for political and economic debates, as opposed to car and battery production, the thoughts and feelings on the Tesla brand have certainly changed in the UK.

While some refuse to participate with a controversial brand, others are just enjoying the choice from the competitors to the Model 3 like the BMW i4, Polestar 2, BYD Seal and VW ID7. However, don’t be quick to count out Tesla, who are still producing the Model 3 and Model Y in some quantity. Personal, and political agenda aside, these are still incredibly robust EVs and the quality of the vehicle should not be underestimated.

For businesses and fleets with high-mileage and longer journeys, the ability to drive a car with both an adequate range and expedient charging times does lead to both the Model 3 and Y entering the conversation. Not one to rest on their laurels, the US powerhouse is yet again revising and updating their Model 3 with the arrival of a new battery pack for improved performance, power and technology.

The Highland version of the Model 3 will see all European versions benefit from a new 82kWh battery option, which will improve range, efficiency and performance. As we will set out below, the LR RWD / AWD and performance will all enjoy some seismic range improvements, as quality and standards in the BEV market continue to improve.
