The move into electric cars has not been at the expense of luxury, comfort and desirability. As we move through 2026 (with speed) we have witnessed a number of very exciting new EVs which are pushing the boundaries of what we ever thought was possible.
Technology, battery efficiency and charging speeds are well beyond what most drivers need. With the continued kick by the petrol and diesel prices at the pumps causing more British businesses to think carefully about their fleet requirements, the allure of the BEV is growing. While some smaller and bigger businesses will buy their new EV (Hire Purchase, Contract Purchase or Cash) many are pursuing the practicality and risk-controlled contract hire / leasing route.

With contract hire, the big advantage for the business is that it never owns the asset. If there are deprecation concerns or if the business does not want to go through the time, hassle and inconvenience of selling their vehicles, the lease route presents a more flexible and at-length route.
In essence, you take on the vehicle for a set time (2, 3 or 4 years), set mileage (5,000 - 50,000 per annum) and on an initial rental / deposit which meets your cash flow / tax needs. With the "maintenance package” you can include the costs of all servicing, maintenance and tyres (inc punctures) within the arrangement.
This essentially means that the customer will only have to fuel it (via electricity), insure it and cover any windscreen damage. The rest of it is included for the duration. The idea is that the business enjoys cash flow and tax efficiencies along with the ability to cost control their fleet with robust detail.
At the end of the contract, you simply arrange for the vehicle to be collected in line with the new / replacement vehicle being collected. But does every business qualify?

When you speak with leasing brokers, like the e-car lease team, you enjoy the benefit of our panel of funders. This means that you are provided with a cost-effective solution for the individual vehicle BUT also means that your business can be accommodated if the structure or circumstances do not comply with the rules and approach of one particular funder. For most UK limited companies, your qualification for a new lease car is based on the following information:

We always recommend that small / medium limited companies do speak with their accountants first. This is useful for understanding the tax implications, and benefits, while also ensuring that the necessary information is collated for the application.
This does ensure that the process is handled quickly. If you do not have all the necessary components, this will only delay the credit application process.
However, if you are like our food and retail business from Manchester, who ensured that their financial information and Companies house submission were aligned, the Porsche Macan electric car lease application was smooth sailing. The director recently enjoyed their delivery of this luxury SUV.
In terms of the car shown, the Porsche MACAN ELECTRIC ESTATE 380kW 4S 100kWh 5dr Auto (Pure Electric Vehicle), this is based on the following configuration:

4S Electric - this AWD SUV has a usable battery of 94.9 kWh which offers 380kW (510hp), top speeds of 149 mph and 0-62 times of 4.1 seconds. The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 10 hour and 15 minutes with the 270kW DC enabling 10-80% in 21 minutes. The Macan has no Bidirectional charging.
