The Porsche Macan may well be one of the UK's most luxury all-electric SUVs. But that doesn't mean the engineers down at Porsche are immune to the trials and tribulations which all manufacturers face in moving to battery technology.
While the UK is a hotbed of activity, partially through the Government ZEV Mandate initiative and partially through the hard work and ingenuity of the various stakeholders - car manufacturers, dealerships, leasing brokers, charge point operators and energy companies - there still remains a direct (and honest) query about the viability of BEVs as a majority product.

By this we question the ability for EVs to surpass the 50% threshold in the UK for new car registrations. Like much in life, anything is possible. But only when the endeavour is carried out with considered thought, analysis and delivery.
While Porsche have very much been vocal with some of the issues they have faced, especially with the recent clarity on the new Cayenne being combustion and plug-in focused, this doesn't mean they are moving away or slowing down their investment. Indeed, the Macan EV has received a mid-life update already, with a few small tweaks to the technological function on all models. As part of this, there will be an introduction of a favourite specification - the GTS.

As we witnessed with the Taycan model (both saloon and Tourer), the GTS was considered to be the ideal option for many business owners. Let's face it, the majority of electric Porsche products which are new, are being procured via fleets, company car schemes and salary sacrifice schemes.
It is the used-EV leasing sector where our e-car lease experts are noticing a higher volume of personal and retail transactions. Via our used electric lease website , we have already seen both used Taycan and Macan be sold to PCH customers quite as easily as we would do so with a BCH one. Used Porsche electric car leasing is very much on the growth trajectory!

However, it doesn't matter whether you are considering a new or used electric Porsche; you want to ensure the specification and configuration are suitable for your needs and requirements. The difficulty with the Porsche approach, and this stems from personal experience and customer feedback, is that the group operate a "standard" car build system, which necessitates the customer to effectively invest the time to create and build their perfect option.

While this may be appropriate for petrol products like the 911 or Cayenne, we have noticed customers move away from the Macan once the product has been configured. In some cases, you will add £10,000 - £15,000 worth of options until the vehicle becomes wholly perfect. Stemming back to the above, while company car / business customers are less price sensitive due to the inherent tax benefits, many are still careful and calculated.
When you compare the Macan EV to the likes of the Audi Q6, BYD Sealion 7 Excellence and now the upcoming BMW iX3 and Mercedes GLC electric, there are queries on what solution is best fit. Even more so when you consider some fantastic battery revisions from all the brands aforementioned.

So, it is no surprise that the Porsche team have now moved to the GTS on the Macan, which is perhaps a response to more simplification on their product. From £89,000 OTR, the GTS electric is very much 100% Porsche with a focus on emotional sportiness, signature finish and driving pleasure.
The key highlights on the GTS include the sports air suspension, 10mm lowered suspension with PTC Plus, optional rear axel driving, SportDesign package for the exterior including the black high-gloss, GTS side skirts, rear spoiler, Race-Tex leather, GTS interior package (in various colours), 21" GTS Macan Design alloys or the optional 22" RS Spyder alloys.
APP centre on the vehicle, Performance Battery Plus, Matrix LED lights, adaptive sports seats (18-way electric), heated GTS steering wheel, Bose surround sound, heated front seats, towbar preparation, power steering, Sport Chrono Package, red brake calipers, Electric Sport Sound, Park Assist, Lane Change Assist, Swerve and Turn Assist.

Driver Awareness Detection, 2-zone climate control, ambient lighting, keyless drive, wireless smartphone charging, Porsche Connect and navigation. Additional options to consider would be - heated rear seats, passenger display screen, air quality system, power steering plus and the electric charging cover. None of which break the bank. The GTS does really reflect better value within the Macan electric range.
Just build it on the Porsche manufacturer website - and send this to our expert team for your finance quotation.
