The all-new family electric SUV from Hyundai is now making its way around the UK - the Ioniq 9. “Sleek and futuristic” the 7-seater is welcoming UK customers to a new era of space and design. With 3-rows internally, a whole host of technological features and futuristic styling, there is no doubting the presence of this new BEV.
From the front there are the dedicated accents, pixels and LED light signatures, from the side you have the smooth curved lines and streamlining to ensure a low drag coefficient, from the rear you can enjoy the streamline roof and pixel-fused finish plus a range of 19, 20 and 21” alloys for your perfect build. Inside is where the Ioniq 9 really shines, with the superior roominess and lounge-like feel to ensure your passengers enjoy comfort and luxury beyond what they may be expecting. With subtle character like the Panoramic Sunroof, this enables a relaxed and tranquil environment.
Inside, the relaxation seats are possible in the 1st row which fully recline with a leg rest also available for optimum comfort. In the 2nd row, the swivelling seats mean that you can create a face-to-face rear with a “lounge” being produced within your vehicle.
As a 7-seat vehicle, the rear passengers will fit more comfortably than other options, so that multiple adults can travel within the EV. The Universal Island 2.0 can be added to enhance the level of storage with walk-through front row seating, bidirectional armrests and enhanced convenience.
The driver also enjoys the roomy and premium seats, with a panoramic curved display floating dashboard and ambient interior lights. Some of the amazing statistics on the Ioniq 9 include the 1,323 litres of cargo space with the 3rd row seats down, 12.3” cluster infotainment and 12.3” panoramic curved display.
There is also the Hyundai AI Assistant in the vehicle to ensure voice recognition commands as well as a virtual assistant. Plus the Active Noise Control-Road coupled with the BOSE© premium sound makes for a seamless experience.
Cutting-edge technology lies at the heart of this product, with the V2L (vehicle to load) enabling your Ioniq 9 to charge external devices like bicycles, scooters and camping equipment. The digital finish includes the Dynamic Welcome, Escort Light and the Entertainment Package. A Digital Side Mirrors option, means that internal mirrors allow you to see outside the cockpit, with the remote smart parking assist 2 enabling the vehicle to park with you outside of it. A Highway Driving Assist 2 is an autonomous system which enables complete speed and distance control. What we know is that Hyundai will be launching a number of options including:

There will be 3 battery options for UK customers including:
For your construction company, this could be the perfect motoring solution for the directors and senior management if they are looking for a suitable alternative to other 7-seat EVs like the Kia EV9, Mercedes EQB and the Volvo EX90.
The tax advantages for businesses are still continuing into 2025, with some robust savings for limited companies. The rentals you pay for the vehicle are wholly tax deductible against Corporation Tax, the charge point infrastructure can be offset against tax (full expensing under capital expenditure) and the electricity used in charging your new company car is not considered as fuel (under HMRC rules).
For the driver, the big benefit for a zero-emission vehicle is that the company car tax (Benefit In Kind) is still being supported by HMRC so that income tax exposure on a 0g/km CO2 vehicle is marginal. For many construction companies, directors and senior managers have probably enjoyed luxury options like the Range Rover Sport, Mercedes GLE and the BMW X5.
But for more diligent and cost-conscious employees, the significant tax applied to these vehicles, except for the PHEV options, has led to serious reconsideration. This is why battery options are now being taken up in company car and salary sacrifice schemes across the construction industry, as more drivers look to enjoy the financial and ecological benefits of this transport.
