Lease an Audi A2 Hatchback

The world of all-electric hatchbacks just got a little bit more exciting as the Audi design team confirmed the re-launch of an iconic favourite; the Audi A2.

Customers may remember the A2 from way-back in 2000-2005, which was the German car manufacturer’s first big attempt at a mass market vehicle before the Audi A1 arrived. However, since the move into battery technology, Audi have been principally focused on more luxury and SUV marques with the likes of the e-tron, e-tron GT, Q8, Q6 and Q4.

But in a turn of events, the group have decided to open their order books up to more affordable car solutions for the UK leasing market. With the Cupra Raval and Born, VW ID.Polo and I.3 Neo plus the Skoda Epiq in production, the VWFS group had an existing platform – the VAG MEB – in which to create a new offering.

The decision to launch with the A2 is definitely a sage one, as this creates a robust hatchback option in the “C-segment”. Audi are a popular brand and without more affordable car choices, would have potentially alienated a big demographic in the UK.

So, what specifications and options are available in the new Audi A2 e-tron hatch?

At September 2026, UK leasing customer can choose between:

  •  Technik – includes key features like hill hold assist, adaptive cruise, parking system plus, traffic sign recognition, reversing camera, side assist, MMI navigation plus, electrically adjustable / heated door mirrors, 7-speaker sound system, LED lights, 2-zone air conditioning, heated steering wheel, ambient light pack and the 18” alloys;
  •  Sport – includes key features like the comfort key, storage and luggage pack, 4-way lumbar support for the driver, digital key, bidirectional charging (V2L and V2H) and 19” alloys;
  •  S Line – includes key features like dark window trims, 8-speaker sound system, S line bumpers, 3-spoke flat top steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and 19” alloys; and

With prices starting around £32,000 (spec dependent) this e-tron A2 is very much a direct competitor to the Renault 5, Alpine A290, Smart #1 and of course the other comparable VWFS group options.

While the robust battery, incredible tech and prestigious badge are a key point, this is still an option which you should buy / lease after the relevant thoughts. To help our amazing customers, our e-car website provides (free of charge) our “living with your ...” tools and EVC™ certificates to explain the fundamental aspects and data on the vehicle.

Key metrics such as real-world range, charging times (AC and DC), charging costs, charge solutions, performance and towing capacity along with charging tariffs, motor insurance and bidirectional charging are discussed.
