Leasing a BMW iX2 Electric in the UK

The German automotive group, BMW, are fast becoming the leading EV manufacturer in terms of their suite of products and options across all segments. With the exception of a small hatchback (like an electric 1 series), with their latest addition - the all-electric iX2 – diversity within the brand is certainly not lacking.

With a new X2 announced in a petrol format, it wasn’t particularly surprising that BMW confirmed a zero-emission option would also be made available to supplement the recently launched iX1.

Is the iX2 bigger than the iX1? The two vehicles are actually very similar with the Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) X2 being 4554 mm Long, 2104 mm Wide, 1560 mm in Height and possessing a 525kg load capacity. In contrast the estate (and less sporty) iX1 is 4500 mm Long, 2104 mm Wide, 1616 mm in Height and possessing a 570kg load capacity.

The actual shape of the iX2 actually removes some of the practicality in return for the aesthetics and style of the vehicle.

At present only one battery specification has been confirmed, which is the
230kW xDrive30 65kWh 5dr Auto. At this juncture, a 150kW eDrive20 65kWh 5dr Auto has not been formally confirmed. So how does the new iX2 perform? This AWD SUV will have a 64.7 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 5.6 seconds, 112 mph top speeds and 230 kW (or 308hp).

Expect a combined winter range of 200 miles with warmer weather allowing for 270 miles. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 7 hour 0 – 100% charging times with the 130 kW DC maximum allowing 29 minute 10 – 80% times. A cargo volume of 525L is available with this car. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 147 mpg. This EV will have no Bidirectional charging. It will be able to tow 750kg (unbraked) and 1200kg (braked).

With prices starting at £57,445 for a standard M Sport expect standard specification like DAB radio, BMW Online Services, electric folding mirrors, heated front seats, eDrive Exterior Sound, Parking assistant, M Adaptive Suspension, LED lights, automatic tailgate.

BMW live cockpit Plus with a Curved Display, navigation, air conditioning, cruise control, reversing camera and 19” 871 M alloy wheels. Choose from colours like – Storm Bay, Skyscraper Grey, Cape York Green, Fire Red and Portimao Blue. Upgrade your alloys to the 20” 873 M or the 869 M options.

And inside, upgrade your M Alcantara to either leather (3 colour choices) or leatherette (5 choices). Also note the “AC Charging Professional” which is the 22kW AC charging upgrade – this allows for 0 - 100% charging sessions of just over 3 hours!

And the iX2 won’t lack in vehicle packs. The Technology Pack adds acoustic glass, adaptive LED headlights, comfort access, folding mirrors and storage for wireless charging. Add a Technology Plus for the Professional Cockpit, HUD, Iconic Glow Kidney Grille and Parking Assistant Plus.

And finally, the M Sport Pro Pack will add the M appearance many BMW customers require like Individual Lights Shadow Line, high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, Luxury Instrument Panel, M Sport spoiler, M Sport seat belts and upgraded alloys.
