Leasing the new GWM ORA 03 in the UK

The GWM car manufacturer, also known as the Great Wall Motor Company, is not entirely new to the UK. In 2025, the group decided to rebrand, including a logo change, as part of a modernisation strategy. This also included changing the city-car “Ora Funky Cat” to the more subtly named Ora 03. However, this is still very much the same vehicle.

Dynamic, energetic and electric. The Ora 03 is designed to stand out from the crowd. With a retro, but futuristic, design, the city-car is aiming to be a distinctive part of the UK leasing market. From the 18” alloys to LED headlights and plush interior, this is very much a statement EV. Even Which? (a consumer champion) made this the Eco buy of June 2025!

The new 03 will launch in 2 specifications including:

•  Pure- from £24,995 this includes 18” alloys, Apple CarPlay, 360 degree camera, 10.25” infotainment, 10.25” instrument cluster, intelligent cruise, keyless entry and start, rear parking camera, rear sensors, wireless charging and electric driver seats;  

•  Pro- from £28,995 this includes leatherette seats, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, front parking sensors, powered gesture tailgate, memory and auto folding mirrors, rear privacy glass and auto parking assist; and 

•  GT - from £32,995 this includes heat pump, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, massage seats, GT alloys and GT interior trim.

Choose between Moonlight White, Mars Red, Starry black and Meteorite Grey.

How will the new ORA 03 electric perform?

As per below the two options include:

•  Pure+ - this FWD car has a usable battery of 45.4 kWh which offers 126 kW (169hp), top speeds of 99 mph and 0-62 times of 8.3 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 135 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 185 miles (on a full charge) - combined overall at 160 miles. The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 5 hours with the 64 kW DC enabling 10-80% in 45 minutes. It has a 143 mpg equivalent, 228L cargo volume but cannot tow. There is no heat pump on this EV. There is no Bidirectional charging; and

• Pro+  - this FWD car has a usable battery of 59.3 kWh which offers 126 kW (169hp), top speeds of 99 mph and 0-62 times of 8.2 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 175 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 240 miles (on a full charge) - combined overall at 210 miles. The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 6 hours and 30 minutes with the 69 kW DC enabling 10-80% in 47 minutes. It has a 143 mpg equivalent, 228L cargo volume but cannot tow. The heat pump is an additional option on this EV. There is no Bidirectional charging.

Moving into the new 03 is without a doubt an exciting proposition. Funky, full of technology and great to drive, both personal and business leasing customers have many reasons for going into this battery option.
