Leasing the new Mazda 6e Saloon in the UK

Blending high quality with advance technology, the new Mazda 6 electric saloon is a true reflection of Japanese aesthetics and quality. While the Mazda brand has been noticeably quiet in this zero-emission segment, with only the MX-30 electric crossover SUV, the Mazda Motor Corporation have decided to re-engage with the BEV market via this saloon (sedan) solution. Co-developed with the Chinese brand Changan Automobile, the vehicle shares the platform with the Deepal L07. Collaboration and joint ventures are now a key solution for many car brands to enter the UK and European car markets.

“Where Japanese craftmanship shapes electric driving” the all-new Mazda 6e is aiming to re-ignite the saloon market which has been overshadowed by the SUV and crossover vehicle options in the last 2 – 3 years. The latest Mazda EV is very much focused on driver experience with key highlights including the range, fast charging capabilities, advanced and intuitive technical capabilities and peace of mind via the 6-year / 100,000 miles vehicle warranty.

The spacious and quality interior is a true reflection of the historic Japanese skill for automotive production and design. Yet the brand have not ignored practicality, with the 466 litres of luggage space (72 litres of front storage) and an impressive 1,500kg of towing capability.

So what options are there on the Mazda 6e?

As at Feb 2026 choose between:

  • Takumi – from £38,995 this is a high-level of standard specification which offers significant quality and components to the driver. As standard the car includes 19” alloys, LED headlights, signature LED interior LED lights, 360 degree view monitor, front/rear parking sensors, power liftgate, privacy glass, heated steering wheel, frameless rear view mirror, heated and ventilated front seats, heat pump, air purifier, HUD, 14-speaker SONY surround sound, navigation, wireless charging, keyless entry, blind spot monitoring and smart brake support; and
  •  Takumi Plus – from £39,995 this is the epitome of luxury and craftsmanship. The model adds premium nappa leather, tan leather steering wheel, panoramic glass sunroof, quilted artificial suede tan door card and rear function colour screen.

Key colours include the crystal white, jet black, polymetal grey, aero grey, deep crystal blue, machine grey and soul red crystal.

How does the new Mazda 6e perform?

At launch 1 battery is available:

  •  Mazda 6e 78kWh – this RWD EV will have a 77 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 7.9 seconds, 109 mph top speeds and 190kW (or 255hp). Expect a cold weather range of around 230 miles with warmer weather allowing for 320 miles – a combined range of around 275 miles on a full charge. On charging, the 11kW AC max will allow 8 hours and 15 mins 0 – 100% charging times with the 200kW DC maximum allowing 25 minute 10 – 80% times. This has a fuel equivalent of 145 mpg. A cargo volume of 456L is available with this car. The car can tow 750kg (Unbraked) and 1500kg (Braked). This will have Bidirectional charging capabilities via the V2L (3.3kW AC from the exterior outlet). The heat pump is available and standard on the vehicle.

The Mazda 6e is an incredible proposition with specification, luxury and technology awash in the vehicle. A great alternative to the VW ID7, Audi A6 e-tron, BYD Seal and the Tesla Model 3, this is a welcome addition to the PCH and BCH markets. However, a long-term commitment, purchase or contract hire, does necessitate thought and process.

To this end, our “living with your…” and EVC™ certificates provide you or the fleet director with the key facts on the vehicle. Fundamental aspects like real-world range, charging times, charging costs, running costs, power/performance, towing capacity, bidirectional charging, charge point locations and EV tariffs are included for your perusal.
