Leasing an MG IM6 SUV in the UK

The MG team have been busy creating new and exciting propositions to engage with the UK’s leasing community. In a quasi-rebrand, the manufacturer has moved to the IM branded products, as it looks to transfer their BEVs into higher echelons of the market. To supplement their new IM5 saloon, a new SUV option has also been released– the IM6.

Described as an intelligent SUV, with supercar prowess, the IM6 is essentially competing against the Tesla Model Y, Polestar 4, Skoda Enyaq and BMW iX1. With the UK being very much an SUV and crossover focused market, this is clearly a move to have their elegant products considered in more detail.

A “contradiction in the best possible way ” the IM6 is centred around purpose innovation, intelligent travel, refined handling and space (with pace). For company car users, with families / pets / or both, the IM6 will offer some 665L of boot space for complete practicality. Underpinned with some robust electric architecture this is promising to be a car for the long-term.

As at August 2025, there will be three key options being made available to the leasing market including:

•  IM6 Electric Estate 300kW Long Range 100kWh 5dr Auto (from £47,995);

•  IM6 Electric Estate 553kW Performance 100kWh 5dr AWD Auto (from £50,995); and

•  IM6 Electric Estate 553kW Launch Edition 100kWh 5dr AWD Auto (from £52,995.

The key specification on the IM6 includes the adaptive cruise control, active emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot detection, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, intelligent speed limit assist, 4-wheel steering (with Cab Mode).

One Touch iAD, LED headlights, privacy glass, front/rear parking sensors, electrically adjustable / heated / power-folding door mirrors, automatic flush door handles, 20” aero alloys, ventilated disc brakes, alarm, immobiliser, rainy night mode, emergency brake assist, leather seats, 12-way adjustable driver seat with lumbar support and seat memory, 6-way adjustable passenger seat, climate control, heat pump, thermal insulated panoramic glassroof, 256-colour ambient lighting.

In terms of battery options on the IM6 choose between:

• Long Range - from £47,995 with a usable battery of 96.5 kWh this RWD Saloon offers 300 kW (402hp), top speeds of 146 mph and 0-62 times of 5.4 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 270 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 360 miles (on a full charge) - 315 miles combined . The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 10 hours and 30 minutes with the 369kW DC enabling 10-80% in 17 minutes. The IM6 has confirmed Bidirectional charging - V2L functionality.. It has a 132 mpg equivalent, 665L cargo volume (1640L with the seats down) and towing capabilities are yet to be confirmed. The heat pump is available as a standard option; and

• Performance - from £50,995 with a usable battery of 96.5 kWh this AWD Saloon offers 553 kW (742hp), top speeds of 149 mph and 0-62 times of 3.5 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 240 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 320 miles (on a full charge) - 280 miles combined . The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 10 hours and 30 minutes with the 369kW DC enabling 10-80% in 17 minutes. The IM6 has confirmed Bidirectional charging - V2L functionality. It has a 117 mpg equivalent, 665L cargo volume (1640L with the seats down) and towing capabilities are yet to be confirmed. The heat pump is available as a standard option

V2L charging, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, power tailgate ,keyless entry, climatised armrest storage, 20 speaker audio system 26.3” HD immersive infotainment, 10.5” HD central screen, navigation, ventilated wireless mobile phone charger and the 360 degree camera with transparent chassis.

The IM6 is a car which oozes practicality, excitement and dependability. Without a doubt, there are a number of pros underlying this move into the new SUV.
