Nissan Lease Deals UK

It’s impossible to talk about electric cars without mentioning Nissan. One of the true originators of electrification, the Japanese automotive powerhouse was quick to get involved in the next evolution of our industry. For nearly 10 years, you have been able to enjoy pure electric driving from Nissan, principally in the form of the Nissan Leaf hatchback. Statistics suggest some 500,000 had been sold worldwide!

The early adoption did bring about some critique for Nissan, as early technology in the EVs was not quite what customers have come to expect. The 22 kWh usable lithium-ion battery would only allow for 60 - 90 miles of pure electric driving. Add to that the antiquated Type 1 and CHAdeMO charge ports with their 3.3 kW AC and 46 kW DC capabilities and you soon see why going electric needed due consideration. But Nissan have made significant changes to their product line-up and these concerns have now been alleviated.

How expensive is a Nissan to lease

The modern Leaf is not only more practical day-to-day, it is also one of the best value electric cars to lease. Costing between £23,000 to £29,000, expect your monthly rentals to be around £200 - 275 per month. And who said that EVs are not affordable! And Nissan are not being remiss with their electric offering. As they set out on their website, “you need to switch on to smarter driving”. And the brand intends to do just that with the upcoming Ariya, a prestige SUV / crossover which is set to be one of the UK’s leading options to select.

Why choose a Nissan to lease

For company car users, and those covering higher mileage, there needs to be no concerns about the Nissan EV product. A Leaf e+ will offer combined ranges of circa 200 miles on a full charge, coupled with 6.6 kW AC and 100 kW DC charging capabilities; so this means just over 30 minutes to achieve 10-80% when using a rapid charging solution. The new 87 kWh usable lithium-ion battery in the Ariya will go even further, with near 300-mile ranges and unbelievable charging capabilities of 22 kW AC and 130 kW DC. Nissan are clearly aiming to be one of the fastest charging cars available in the UK.

Is Nissan a good car to lease?
Nissan are one of the true early adopters to electric cars, having produced EVs for much longer than their competitors like Ford or MG. And where Nissan have really succeeded in this market is that they launched their initial offering in the form of a cost-effective hatchback – the Leaf. And they haven’t stopped there, with 2022 being the launch date for the exciting Ariya.
