Leasing the new Nissan Leaf in the UK

The all-new Nissan Leaf is here and is set to hit the UK roads in March 2026. While some may rebuff this model, with a new generation of manufacturers and brands now available to the UK’s leasing community, it is important not to forget that this was a pioneering vehicle and one of the first EVs to be produced. Nearly 15 years ago (yes – in 2010) the Nissan Leaf was winning awards and recognition, selling over 200,000 across Europe by 2021. Credit where credit is due, this is an electric car for the ages.

The “icon remained” will see the Leaf launch in an entirely different format and style, as Nissan move their offering to mass-market electrification. Having just launched their Nissan Micra EV the engineering team will be utilising a bigger and more SUV concept for this car. Built in the UK at the Sunderland plant, the Leaf will be a sleek, aerodynamic and spacious crossover. Indeed, the drag coefficient of 0.25 is testament to a focus on range and performance. With flush door handles and a slowing line, this is a much more ergonomic vehicle.

While the 437L boot does make it a great family-friendly EV, the car will be loaded with technology and specification too. A panoramic dimming glass roof, 3D rear lamps, optional 18” and 19” alloys, ProPILOT assist, 3D Around View Monitor, Bose Premium Sound, Google Maps, invisible hood view, front wide view, intelligent cruise control, lane keep assist and drive monitor system are all featured. Produced on the CMF-EV modular palatiform (like their Ariya) the Leaf will continue the legacy for being a car for green drivers and environmentalists. With V2L functionality and V2G compatibility this is very much the EV of the future for 2026 and beyond.

For more information, and to build your bespoke option, head to the  Nissan  website.

In terms of batteries and performance, the new Leaf EV will include:

  • Standard Range – from around £32,000 this FWD car has a usable battery of 52 kWh which offers 130 kW (174hp), top speeds of 99 mph and 0-62 times of 8.6 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 165 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 230 miles (on a full charge) - combined overall at 200 miles. The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 6 hours and 45 minutes with the 105 kW DC enabling 10-80% in 33 minutes. It has a 156 mpg equivalent, 437L cargo volume but can tow 975kg (Braked). There is a heat pump as an option on this EV. There is a full suite of Bidirectional charging with V2L via the exterior type outlet and the V2G functionality; and
  •  Extended Range - from around £37,000 this FWD car has a usable battery of 75 kWh which offers 160 kW (215hp), top speeds of 99 mph and 0-62 times of 7.6 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 230 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 325 miles (on a full charge) - combined overall at 280 miles. The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 8 hours and 15 minutes with the 150 kW DC enabling 10-80% in 33 minutes. It has a 151 mpg equivalent, 437L cargo volume but can tow 975kg (Braked). While you may be ready to move into the next chapter of Nissan EV driving, we still encourage that you research the proposition and EV lifestyle thoroughly. While this is more important for 1st time drivers, even more experienced drivers should still use the information available to them.

Our “living with your…” and EVC™ certificates include key facets like real-world range, charging times, charging costs, running costs, power/performance, towing capacity, bidirectional charging and 3rd party connection. The important stuff you need to know!
