Leasing the new Polestar 5 in the UK

The pure performance GT (Gran Tourer) from the Polestar group is finally coming to the UK in Spring 2026. Developed by Geely Holdings / Volvo, this luxury sedan was rumoured in 2020 / 2021, but has since taken around 4 years to bring the actual product to a saleable asset in the automotive market.

With Polestar prioritising more company car friendly and holistic options, like the Polestar 2 fastback and Polestar 3 SUV, this is not an altogether surprising approach. Now recognised as a solid EV producer, with quality, performance and robustness, the push into the luxury car segment is being done with confidence.

The “future of the sports car” is designed and engineered by the Polestar team in-house. With an advanced chassis, aluminium body, clinical aerodynamics and internal comfort with technology, this is seeking to be a machine which ignites a spark for interest in the BEV segment.

The lightweight structure is a Performance Architecture formed with anodised aluminium and adequately hosts all of the batteries. The next-level powertrain and 800V battery technology is testament to the submission that this is a product resulting from the hard-work of designers, engineers and motorsport test-drivers.

As per the Polestar website, UK customers can choose from two options including:

  •  Dual Motor - the Launch Edition will start from £89,500 and includes 20” Aero alloys, engineered sophisticated passive chassis, high-performance audio system, Swedish old stripe seat belts, anodised Brembo brakes, Pilot Assist and Lane change assist, heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, HUD with infrared windscreen, heated and automatically folding mirrors, Pixel LED headlights, puddle light in the front, rain sensor wipers, power-operated tailgate, flush-handles, 4-zone climate control, advanced air cleaner, wireless charger, 9” driver display, 14.5 centre display, digital key, connected services, 360 degree camera, 12 ultrasonic sensors, 4 HD cameras, adaptive cruise control, advance collision warning, post-impact braking, lane keeping aid and oncoming mitigation; and
  • Performance - the Launch Edition will start from £104,900 and will add 21” alloys, Polestar Engineered chassis tuning with MagneRide dampers, Bowers & Wilkins audio and the Swedish gold brake and seatbelts.

Choose between colours like Magnesium Matte, Snow, Space, Storm and Magnesium. You can upgrade your interior to the leather (with different options for the Dual Motor or the Performance). Other notable options include the semi-electric towbar, 22” alloys, load carrier or the interior cushions.
