Leasing a Porsche Macan Electric in the UK

Adding credence and respectability to the electric vehicle transition is fundamental in the UK. With so many news and media outlets providing various pros and cons on EVs, both in terms of cars and vans, the business and personal market has been left wondering whether or not the zero-emission ambitions from the UK government are realistic or even achievable.

But when some of the nation’s best, and most adored, manufacturers introduce robust options, it really does alter the public perception on the future of electric cars. And when Porsche (who are consistently ranked at the top of owner satisfaction surveys) embark on electrification, customers really do listen and take note.

While the amazing Taycan launched in 2022, with the Cross and Sports Turismo following soon after, the rumours of a smaller SUV option in all-electric format definitely caused a stir in 2023. However, it was only this year (2024) when the German car makers added the vehicle to their website for UK customers to spec and order. With British car buyers (and lease customers) very much interested in 4x4 and family SUV options, this was a timely arrival.

At the time of official launch (February 24), there are two key models to choose between:

  •  Macan 4 Electric - from £69,800 this model includes features like 20” alloys, 8-way comfort seats, front heated seats, towbar preparation, powered tailgate, aluminium roof, 4WD drive, steel spring suspension, LED headlights, electrically folding door mirrors, multifunction steering wheel, traffic sign recognition, lane change assist cruise control, lane keeping assist, park assist, reversing camera, dashcam preparation, heat pump, climate control, wireless charging, sound package plus, Apple CarPlay; and
  •  Macan Turbo Electric - from £95,000 this model adds 20” Turbo alloys, 18-way adaptive sports seats, Turbo Equipment Package (steering wheel with Porsche crest, climate control on Turbonite, Porsche crest on bonnet and wheel centres with Porsche crest in Turbonite), high-gloss black trims, adaptive air suspension, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Electric Sport Sound, Sport Chrono Package, power steering plus, Matrix LED lights, LED taillight with Porsche, leather package, accent package, multifunction GT sports wheel, stainless steel pedals and Bose surround system.

Not unlike the other Porsche combustion and electric models, UK leasing customers can customise these options to suit their needs and requirements. With colours, alloys, seats, interior features and exterior features all fully customisable, creating the perfect Macan is possible.

But what about the electric Macan’s performance and battery – does it have a robust range / charging time?

  • 4 Electric - with a usable battery of 96 kWh which offers 300kW (402hp), top speeds of 137mph and 0-62 times of 5.2 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 255 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 345 miles (on a full charge). The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 10 hour and 30 minutes with the 270kW DC enabling 10-80% in 22 minutes. The Macan has no Bidirectional charging. It has a 129 mpg equivalent, 540L cargo volume and offers towing capacities of 750kg (unbraked) and 2000kg (braked); and
  •  Turbo Electric - with a usable battery of 96 kWh which offers 470kW (630hp), top speeds of 162mph and 0-62 times of 3.3 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 255 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 340 miles (on a full charge). The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 10 hour and 30 minutes with the 270kW DC enabling 10-80% in 22 minutes. The Macan has no Bidirectional charging. It has a 126 mpg equivalent, 540L cargo volume and offers towing capacities of 750kg (unbraked) and 2000kg (braked).

How much is a Porsche Macan Electric to lease?
With the Macan 4 at just under £70,000 (for a basic model) and the Turbo at £95,000 expect leasing deals to be around £700 - £1200 per month, mileage, term and initial rental / deposit dependent. For company car and salary sacrifice users, with the considerable tax benefits, this will still be a more affordable solution.

Is a Porsche Macan a good car to lease?
The Taycan is one of the UK’s highest rated EVs, with the charging speeds and performance providing an exceptional experience. Porsche deliver a faultless driver experience, with comfort and performance never lacking. The Macan EV will have the 800V architecture plus it is built on a dedicated VW PPE platform. The Macan is one of the world’s most aerodynamic SUVs. Without a doubt, a contender for Car of the Year in 2024.

Is a Porsche Macan Electric lease right for me or the business?
While it is easy to fall in love with the design and performance of the Macan, not to mention the luxury, it is important that both our personal and business lease customers consider the full picture of the EV lifestyle. Product suitability isn’t just the monthly price; it also means reviewing charging infrastructure, charge times / speeds, Whole of Life costs plus motor insurance. While our “living with your ...” and EVC™ does do this for you, we can help customers who may have more queries or bespoke queries.

Where do I find the best Porsche Macan Electric lease deals in the UK?
We do encourage our customers to visit our best electric car deals section at  to compare the different vehicle options. However, our price comparison website partners like CarWow, Leasing.Com and LeaseLoco do show great offers too. For a more dedicated experience visit your Porsche retailer to get a PCP or HP quotation. Lease or buy – which is better? Just compare the different offers and products available, as your individual circumstances will determine this.

What is the cheapest Porsche Macan Electric leasing option?
At the time of writing (February) the cheapest leasing option is the
300kW Macan 4  96kWh 5dr Auto at just under £70,000.

What is the range of a Porsche Macan Electric?
Never use the WLTP range of an EV to set your requirements. These are laboratory statistics and do not accurately reflect the way in which the car will operate on the UK roads. Elements like temperature, driving speeds and behaviour will influence this. Take the Macan 4 for example, this will offer a range (on a full charge) of 220 miles on a motorway in colder weather, with this increasing to 295 miles for urban and city driving. In warmer weather, this increases to 280 miles on a motorway and 435 city driving.

Can you tow with a Porsche Macan Electric?
Yes – you can tow with this Porsche.

What is the towing capacity of the Porsche Macan Electric?
This car will be able to tow 750kg (Unbaked) and 2000kg (Braked).

What is the MPG of the Porsche Macan Electric?
The 4 Macan will have a vehicle fuel equivalent 129 mpg and 126 mpg for the Turbo.
