Leasing the new Tesla Model Y Juniper SUV in the UK

When you think about seminal electric cars, the Tesla name comes to mind. While 2025, and 2026, have proved to be far more difficult for Elon Musk and his automotive engineers, the brand deserves credit for what they have created in the UK; especially in helping the UK mass-adopt lithium-ion technology around 2019 / 2020.

Even if the Tesla vehicles become less important and voluminous in the UK moving forwards (especially with Musk’s focus on robotics and AI) the significance of the American powerhouse will not be forgotten.

The Tesla Model Y, having been through a series of revisions and updates, is still one of the leading SUV and family electric cars in the UK’s leasing market. Robust range, ample technology and a reliability which has been thoroughly tested for the last 4 years, the Model Y still has a big role to play with both PCH and BCH customers.

As at February 2026, the key models on offer include:

  •  Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) – from £41,990 the base model includes tinted glass, wireless phone charger, 8 exterior cameras, blind spot monitoring and collision, front-facing camera, reversing camera, traffic-aware cruise control, powered tailgate, 15.4” touchscreen, navigation, power folding mirrors, 7 speaker immersive sound, LED lights, fixed glass roof, heated steering wheel, textile/vegan leather upholstery, 12-way powered adjustable seats with lumbar, dashcam and sentry mode, keyless entry and 19” alloys;

  •  Premium All Wheel Drive (AWD) – from £51,990 this has updated motor and drive system; and
  •  Performance All Wheel Drive (AWD) – from £61,990 the sports model offers ventilated performance seats, distinct performance badging, increased stability, 21” Arachnid alloys, high-voltage performance battery cells, adaptive suspension, stability assist mode, tinted glass with infrared reflective coating and a 15 speaker sound system with 1 subwoofer.

Key colours include Stealth Grey, Pearl White, Diamond Black, Marine Blue, Quicksilver and Ultra Red. In terms of the additional extras, add the tow hitch (for £1,350), the 20” Helix alloys or one of the autopilot packages.

The “self-driving” options include the Enhanced Autopilot (assisted on and off ramp motorway driving, dumb summon, smart summon and autopark) and Full Self-Driving Capability (traffic light and stop controls).

However, any long-term commitment, cash, finance or lease, does mean that customers need to properly understand the vehicle. Use the “living with your…” and EVC™ certificates to the fullest, as these highlight the crucial points like real-world range, charging times, charging costs, running costs, power/performance, towing capacity, bidirectional charging, charge point locations and EV tariffs. This is a unique innovation for our award-winning e-car lease team.
