Leasing a Volvo ES90 Saloon in the UK

The Volvo team are bringing yet another fully electric premium car to the UK market – the ES90. Reminiscent of the combustion S90, this new saloon is a shift away from the crossover and 4x4 SUV options which the Swedish conglomerate are renowned for producing.

With their EX30, EX40 and EX90 already in circulation, it is not altogether surprising that a new option has been put together to try to capture more business and compete with options like the Audi A6 e-tron, Mercedes EQE and the VW ID.7.

Very much a company car and salary sacrifice specific executive saloon, the ES90 is focusing on comfort, space and relaxation for the driver. The outside is concentrated on the aerodynamic lines, commanding wheels and spacious boot for the perfect silhouette. Inside the new EV, the focus is on an expansive cabin with a minimalist yet polished décor.

Volvo are very much concentrating on the driver, with a perfectly created cockpit to enhance intuition and adaptability. Even the rear passengers benefit from the ergonomic seats with a centre console and lounge armrest. For the music lovers out there, you can even choose between High Performance, Bose Premium and Bowers & Wilkins sound systems!

UK lease customers can choose between

•  Plus – from £69,760 this will include safe space  technology, Bose premium sound, 20” alloys, NFC smart key, alarm, collision avoidance, rear cross traffic alert, 14.5” centre display, 360 degree camera, LED headlights, HUD, BLIS™, park pilot assist, wireless phone charging, heat pump, heated steering wheel, air purifier, powered tailgate, panoramic roof, power driver and passenger seat with memory, heated front and rear seats and 4-way lumbar support; and          

•  Ultra -  from £79,160 this will include the electrochromic panoramic roof, Bowers and Wilkins High Fidelity audio, active air suspension, 21” alloys, HD pixel lights, active chassis, tinted glass windows, front seat massage and power reclinable rear seats.

With both options, the price is based on the standard single motor battery. However, you can upgrade to the twin motor for £4,200 or go to the performance battery for £8,800. 
On colours choose between crystal white, vapour grey, onyx black, denim blue, mulberry red and aurora silver. Inside you can select between the charcoal, cardamom and dawn. Add the 22” alloy upgrade to the Ultra specification.

In terms of battery options on the ES90 choose between:

•  Single Motor - with a usable battery of 88 kWh this RWD Saloon offers 245kW (329hp), top speeds of 112 mph and 0-62 times of 6.9 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 250 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 340 miles (on a full charge) - 300 miles combined . The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 9 hours and 30 minutes with the 300kW DC enabling 10-80% in 20 minutes. The ES90 has no confirmed Bidirectional charging. It has a 138 mpg equivalent, 424L cargo volume (1427L with the seats down) and towing capabilities are 750kg (Unbraked) and 1600kg (Braked) The heat pump is available as a standard option;

•  Twin Motor - with a usable battery of 102 kWh this AWD Saloon offers 330kW (443hp), top speeds of 112 mph and 0-62 times of 5.5 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 280 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 375 miles (on a full charge) - 330 miles combined . The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 11 hours with the 350kW DC enabling 10-80% in 20 minutes. The ES90 has no confirmed Bidirectional charging. It has a 131 mpg equivalent, 424L cargo volume (1427L with the seats down) and towing capabilities are 750kg (Unbraked) and 2000kg (Braked) The heat pump is available as a standard option; and 

•  Twin Motor Performance - with a usable battery of 102 kWh this AWD Saloon offers 500kW (671hp), top speeds of 112 mph and 0-62 times of 4.0 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 280 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 375 miles (on a full charge) - 330 miles combined . The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 11 hours with the 350kW DC enabling 10-80% in 20 minutes. The ES90 has no confirmed Bidirectional charging. It has a 131 mpg equivalent, 424L cargo volume (1427L with the seats down) and towing capabilities are 750kg (Unbraked) and 2000kg (Braked) The heat pump is available as a standard option.

The ES90 is very much a luxury and substantial Volvo EV and we have little doubt that this will prove to be a robust option for many drivers. However, prior to purchasing or leasing your new car, take the time to research the proposition to ensure that it meets your needs and requirements.
