The German powerhouse are fresh out of their BMW iX4 EV launch and are not done there. The smaller battery iX3, the 40, has also been given a mid-life battery update which sees this base model offer a 310 mile combined real-world range! The UK’s personal and business market in 2027 is almost certainly going to be awash with BMW SUVs.

How will the new 2027 iX3 40 operate?

• 40 – starting at around £55,670 this RWD SUV will have an 82.6 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 5.6 seconds,124 mph top speeds and 275kW (or 369hp). Expect a combined winter range of 260 miles with warmer weather allowing for 360 miles – a 310 mile combined. On charging, the 11kW AC max will allow 9 hours 0 – 100% charging times with the 300 kW DC maximum allowing 21 minute 10 – 80% times. A cargo volume of 520L is available with this car. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 152 mpg. You can tow 750kg (Unbraked) and 2000kg (Braked). The new iX3 has Bidirectional Charging - it also has V2L capabilities via an external 3.7kW AC type 2 adapter. The Heat Pump is available as a standard option.
